Window Display – Festive Eye Makeup Inspiration

Move over, eye shadow! From glamorous glitter to rich velvet, draw inspiration from these dressy lids to create your very own stunning statement this party season.

Adding a little bling to your lids has more dazzle than shimmering eye shadow or bold metallic liner ever could. Glittery eyes that blazed the Vena Cava 2011 show can be toned down a notch off the runway – keep the sparklies on the upper lids or drag them along the lower lashline in a really thin line, and a light wash of matte eyeshadow under glitter also helps to soften the effect.

Silver glitter works really well with brown eyes. Gold and bronze make blue eyes stand out, while russets and red tones look stunning with green eyes..

Tip: Always remember to use cosmetic glitters, such as MAC Pro Glitters (what you see at Vena Cava is a blend of MAC Pro Glitters in Silver, 3-D Silver and Reflects Purple Duo, all stuck to the lids with MAC Pro Shine Mixing Medium). Those found in art shops often have sharp edges that can end up injuring your peepers!

A luxurious way to add fabulous texture and edgy couture to your lids. Christian Dior’s ‘Velvet Eyes’ eyeliner appliques come as a set of 4 different adjustable (and reusable!) appliqués – from the not-so-understated matte-black cat eye to the most lavish, lacquered finish bedecked with sparkling Swarovski crystals for maximal wow.

Why limit your love for feathers to fascinators? Seen on various magazine editorials and the recent Viktor & Roth Spring/summer 2012 show, feathered falsies are a pretty and flirty way to create a dramatic multidimensional effect.

Shu Uemura lash bar is a reliable fantasy lash wonderland where your imagination can take flight for lashes that are bound to set hearts aflutter. Psst…also check out their amazing Ethnocolor Scope 2011 collection which features feathery lashes and tribal coloured beads!
